Adnan Januzaj sends a reminder to Louis van Gaal with a superb hat-trick against Sunderland U21.
Teenage winger Adnan Januzaj has sent a reminder to his manager, Louis van Gaal, with a stunning performance for Manchester United’s Under 21 side as they demolished Sunderland U21 at Old Trafford.
Van Gaal was sat in the stands for the clash that saw his side dominate and race into a 3-0 half-time lead, with Januzaj bagging two of them.
The Belgian firstly swept in a neat left-footed finish after a fine team move, before showing that he could do things on his weaker right foot after cutting into the box and away from the defence.
The third came when Januzaj swept home a cut-back in the second half, rounding off a thoroughly satisfactory evening for a player who will believe that his performance will give him a chance of making it into the United side next weekend.
Will Louis van Gaal, however, be able to find room for Januzaj, with the likes of new signing Angel di Maria in such good form and Juan Mata looking to have been revitalised against QPR?
