Ten Big-Name Players Looking For Moves In The January Transfer Window, Including Liverpool & Man United Targets

Ten stars we expect to move when the transfer window re-opens.10) Lukas Podolski (Arsenal)

Often an unused substitute for Arsenal at the moment, Lukas Podolski looks likely to seek a way out of the Emirates Stadium at the next opportunity, with Arsene Wenger seemingly no longer having faith in the experienced German international. Juventus were interested in him in the summer and could try again to snap him up in the winter.

9) Isco (Real Madrid)

Linked with Arsenal and Liverpool, Real Madrid starlet Isco continues to find his career stalling at the Bernabeu. The 22-year-old has previously been hailed as one of the best young talents in the world, but faces too much competition for a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s side and may now look to continue his progression elsewhere.

8) James Milner (Manchester City)

Linked with the likes of Arsenal and Everton, James Milner could be set for a move on the cheap this January after turning down offers of a new contract from Manchester City. The England international is known to be unhappy with his role in Manuel Pellegrini’s squad, and knows he could be a regular at most other Premier League clubs.

7) Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke)

After a fine goal against Chelsea in the Champions League this week, Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is on the radar of several top clubs again, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur all thought to be looking at him. The Dutch international would love one more stab at playing for a big club and could be tempted to move to the Premier League.

6) Pedro (Barcelona)

Despite being a key player for Barcelona for so many years now, Pedro is also rumoured to be considering his future at the Nou Camp after falling down in the club’s pecking order under new manager Luis Enrique. The versatile Spaniard would make a top class signing for most clubs and is already attracting strong interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus.

5) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

After being linked for so long with Manchester United in the summer, Juventus star Arturo Vidal is still thought to be keen on leaving Turin for a move to England. It remains to be seen if the Red Devils will still prioritise him over their other targets, but it could be that a deal will be done for the Chilean to finally move to Old Trafford.

4) Juan Mata (Manchester United)

With so many new signings in midfield and attack this summer, it could be that Juan Mata’s future at Old Trafford is now uncertain, with recent rumours suggesting he would be open to leaving United just a year after joining the club from Chelsea. Juventus and Atletico Madrid are believed to be monitoring his situation, and could be in with a chance of signing the Spanish playmaker this winter.

3) Petr Cech (Chelsea)

Now Chelsea’s backup goalkeeper, Petr Cech will surely not tolerate a place on the bench for the Blues for much longer, with Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco likely to be among his admirers again when the transfer window re-opens.

2) Mario Gotze (Bayern Munich)

Recently linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has hinted that he would like to try a move abroad at some point in the future, and it could even be that he will move as soon as January with speculation that Chelsea in particular are ready to step up their interest in the immensely talented 22-year-old.

1) Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)

Sick of playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani is still believed to be keen on leaving the French giants this January after failing to force through a move away during the summer. Arsenal are tipped to be the favourites to bid for him if he is made available, in what would surely go down as one of the biggest signings of the winter transfer window.
