Free agent Victor Valdes still being monitored by Liverpool
Manager Brendan Rodgers is still looking into signing the goalkeeper as concerns grow over the capabilities of current No.1 Simon Mignolet, according to the Daily Star.
Rodgers has criticised Mignolet in recent times for being too laid back and Valdes could be just the signing to prompt some more urgency in the Belgium international.
The Spaniard is available on a free transfer since leaving FC Barcelona in the summer, but is currently sidelined with a cruciate ligament injury.

The Sky Sports pundit and former captain of the Merseyside outfit has declared that selling Luis Suarez has ruined their title chances.
Suarez was sold to Barca in the summer and their domestic campaign has since started poorly with three defeats from five league games.
“The title? No chance. Not when you haven’t got Suarez in your team,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

The current captain appears to have suggested who he wants his successor to be as Henderson is praised by his skipper for his leadership skills.
The 24-year-old has greatly improved under Rodgers’ guidance over the past 12 months and Gerrard feels the England international is a natural leader.
“I think he epitomises everything a captain should he. I am sure Jordan is going to go on and captain this club,” the 34-year-old was quoted by the Mirror.

Still only 15-years-old Odegaard has already made his senior debut for Norway and the youngster has now revealed who is favourite club is.
“Liverpool are my favourite club. That is not to say that I dream to play for them. I’m thriving at Stromsgodset and feel that I can develop myself right here,” the starlet told Dagbladet Sport.
