Five young stars that are shining in the Capital One Cup so far this term.
The Capital One Cup has become a breeding ground for young talent these days. Those that are taking their first steps into first team action at bigs club rub their hands together with glee whenever the next round rolls by as they know it’ll be their time to shine, given the demands of regular top flight football. With that in mind, we have noticed that there are five young stars currently tearing up the competition and have stood themselves in good stead for a very bright future in the game indeed.
Kurt Zouma – Chelsea
Zouma is hardly an unknown, as fans of French and European football will already be well acquainted with the former Saint Etienne star. However, his progress in the first team has been blocked by the partnership between Gary Cahill and John Terry, and as he is so young Jose Mourinho has definitely earmarked him for the future rather than as an immediate inclusion. He looked sharp in defence against an in-form Sheffield Wednesday and even showed a proclivity for a goal at the other end, too. He will undoubtedly become a key part of Chelsea’s squad in the not too distant future.
