Kurt Zouma – Chelsea

Zouma is hardly an unknown, as fans of French and European football will already be well acquainted with the former Saint Etienne star. However, his progress in the first team has been blocked by the partnership between Gary Cahill and John Terry, and as he is so young Jose Mourinho has definitely earmarked him for the future rather than as an immediate inclusion. He looked sharp in defence against an in-form Sheffield Wednesday and even showed a proclivity for a goal at the other end, too. He will undoubtedly become a key part of Chelsea’s squad in the not too distant future.

Sullay Kaikai – Crystal Palace

Another youngster to emerge from the club’s youth ranks with designs on having a similar impact to that of Wilfried Zaha, the 19-year-old announced himself on the scene with a wonderfully taken goal against Newcastle on Wednesday night. Though he is still very raw and looked a little green at times, he showed enough for the fans to realise that he has a big future ahead of him, and with a few more first team appearances under his belt it won’t be long before he becomes a regular fixture.

Ryan Mason – Tottenham Hotspur

Mason has had to wait for his chance to show Spurs what he is capable of. Despite being an established England youth international he has been loaned out by the Premier League side five times since first emerging back in 2009. At 23 his starlet status is slipping away, but he managed to bag himself a fine goal in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forrest suggesting that now could be the time to give him some added responsibility before it’s too late.

Jordan Rossiter – Liverpool

The 17-year-old was a surprise inclusion to Liverpool’s squad to take on Middlesborough on Tuesday night and immediately made sure the Anfield faithful remembered his name. The teenager did not go hiding, and made sure he was always available to receive the ball. He capped of a strong performance by threading the eye of a needle for his long range goal. He’s modest, too, saying after the game: “I’m still a long way away from being in the first team.”

He’s given Brendan Rodgers some serious food for thought, though.

Jose Angel Pozo – Manchester City

Having poached him from Real Madrid’s youth academy, the Spaniard has given the Premier League champions enough cause to be optimistic that they have a serious future star on their hands. Often compared with Lionel Messi, he came off the bench to impress against Sheffield Wednesday and even got himself on the scoresheet. He has represented Spain at youth level and was even Academy Player of the Year award in 2012/13, set for a huge future.
