Adam Lallana reveals he was a boyhood Everton fan

The Merseysiders’ £25m summer signing from Southampton has admitted a secret ahead of the derby with rivals the Toffees.

“Brendan has bought a helluva lot of players but I still look and think I could get in that team,” the Englishman told the Telegraph.

The 36-year-old thinks his former side have been extremely bad and need to start improving quickly.

“Where are the Liverpool of last season? It must be emphasised it is still early days but the one thing that I associate with Rodgers’ Liverpool is absent: intensity,” Carragher wrote in his Daily Mail column.
