Manchester United Predicted Starting XI vs. West Ham: Youngster Set To Make Debut And Robin Van Persie Dropped

How we expect Manchester United to line up against the Hammers this afternoon.

Manchester United host West Ham United this afternoon, with the Red Devils looking to bounce back from a dreadful weekend last time out that saw them beaten 5-3 by Leicester City in a crazy game at the King Power Stadium.

Louis van Gaal could well make changes once again for the clash against Sam Allardyce’s in-form Hammers, with this the team that we expect him to send out at Old Trafford:

GK) David de Gea – The Spaniard is the least of United’s issues and clear first choice at Old Trafford this season.

RB) Rafael – Had a nightmare against the pace of Leicester’s Jamie Vardy last week, but United lack options at right back.

CB) Tom Thorpe – The 21 year-old academy graduate has been called up to the first team squad by van Gaal and could be in line for a shock debut.

CB) Marcos Rojo – Played at left back for United so far, but suddenly finds himself as United’s only fit central defender.

LB) Luke Shaw – Could be given a debut at left back despite not being fully fit, with van Gaal unlikely to want to move Daley Blind out of position.

DCM) Daley Blind – Was overrun by Leicester at times and will expect more support from his midfielders this week.

CM) Ander Herrera – Has played reasonably well for United so far and his energy is crucial to United turning their fortunes around.

CM) Angel di Maria – Has been in inspired form for United, with his withdrawal at Leicester widely seeen as a turning point.

ACM) Juan Mata – Restoring the Spaniard to the side may allow van Gaal to bring more balance to his top-heavy side.

SC) Wayne Rooney – Rooney will certainly start as club captain, but may be moved further forward into a striking role.

SC) Radamel Falcao – Unlikely to be dropped despite a quiet debut at Leicester – although the Colombian did strike the bar in the East Midlands.
