Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings From 1-1 Arsenal Draw: Younes Kaboul Superb, Ryan Mason Up & Down On Debut

Spurs stars assessed after North London Derby draw.

Tottenham Hotspur halted their three-game losing streak in North London Derbies by holding Arsenal to a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday night.

Nacer Chadli fired Spurs ahead against the run of play on 56 minutes, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men could not hold on, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain netting an equaliser 16 minutes from full time.

Spurs had to defend 15 corner kicks and only had a 31 per cent share of possession in the match.

Six Tottenham players picked up yellow cards, but that seemed to be more a result of referee Michael Oliver’s cranky mood than anything else.

Here’s how Spurs rated in enemy territory…

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris – 8/10

Arsenal had six shots on target and, with the exception of Oxlade-Chamberlain’s unstoppable strike, Lloris was equal to all of them. The French stopper made a world class save to keep out a Per Mertesacker header just after Chadli had put Spurs ahead.

Right-back: Kyle Naughton – 7/10

Was forced to do a lot of defending inside his own penalty area and he did well, especially when dealing with the threat of Alexis Sanchez in the second half.

Left-back: Danny Rose – 7/10

Rose was not able to play his usual attacking game, but the England hopeful hardly put a foot wrong defensively.

Centre-back: Younes Kaboul 9/10

An excellent captain’s performance by the Frenchman, who was rock solid and marshalled his teammates brilliantly.

Centre-back: Jan Vertonghen 8/10

Spurs looked a lot better at the back with Vertonghen having returned to the side in place of Vlad Chiriches. The Dutchman was cool and composed, even when Arsenal were camped in the Tottenham half for long periods.

Midfield: Ryan Mason 6/10

Handled the big occasion fairly well on his Premier League debut. He was combative and won some impressive tackles, but he gave the ball away all too often.

Midfield: Etienne Capoue 8/10

No player made more interceptions than Capoue (five). The Frenchman also made five tackles – more than anyone else.

Attacking Midfield: Nacer Chadli 8/10

Spearheaded many of Tottenham’s counter-attacks with pacy and direct runs. Showed superb composure to score the game’s opening goal – his fourth of the season.

Attacking Midfield: Erik Lamela – 7/10

Had some nice touches and provided a neat pass to assist Chadli’s goal, but many of his other passes were well below par. He also shanked a dreadful clearance, which led to Arsenal’s equaliser.

Attacking Midfield: Christian Eriksen 7/10

Worked hard throughout his 62-minute appearance and played a huge hand in Chadli’s goal by tenaciously pinching the ball off Mathieu Flamini in Arsenal’s defensive third.

Forward: Emmanuel Adebayor 6/10

Landed a couple of decent shots on target, but his off-the-ball movement left a lot to be desired.

Subs:

Aaron Lennon – 6/10
Nabil Bentaleb – 6/10
Eric Dier – 6/10
