GK – Vito Mannone, Sunderland

With two clean-sheets from three matches and a solid display against Tottenham Hotspur in the other encounter, this Italian keeps on proving he was a shrewd buy.

RB – Rafael, Manchester United

May have had a bit of a disaster in the loss to Leicester City, but in United’s two victories over QPR and West Ham United the Brazilian played a vital role – particularly in attack.

CB – Phil Jagielka, Everton

Again it’s a case of two out of three as although a 3-2 home defeat to Crystal Palace was disappointing for the Toffees, a thunderous equaliser in the Merseyside derby earns Jagielka a place in our XI.

CB – Joleon Lescott, West Bromwich Albion

Having been made an outcast at Manchester City there is something of a revival being undertaken by Lescott at the Hamthorns and the Englishman was crucial in their victories over Spurs and Burnley.

LB – Ryan Bertrand, Southampton

Loaned out by Chelsea this left-back has been tasked with filling the void left by Luke Shaw’s summer departure to Old Trafford and he is doing so with aplomb.

CM – Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea

Perhaps the best summer signing in the whole division, Fabregas simply oozes class and provides endless creativity for the abundance of talent at Jose Mourinho’s disposal.

CM – Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton

One of the few that didn’t get sold by the Saints now and despite an early disagreement with the club the midfielder is now making up for it with his brilliant performances.

CAM – Angel di Maria, Manchester United

The Red Devils may be stuttering, but their club record £59.7m signing is not and di Maria continues to justify that huge fee with his fine displays.

RM – Dusan Tadic, Southampton

Many thought the club wouldn’t be able to cope with so many departures, but with imports of the quality of this winger it seems to simply not be a problem for Ronald Koeman and his team.

LM – Eden Hazard, Chelsea

A second Blues star now and someone who is clearly enjoying being accompanied by players of the quality of Fabregas and the Belgium international continues to impress.

ST – Diego Costa, Chelsea

Finishing off the team is another from Stamford Bridge and a striker who has immediately taken to English football following a £32m summer move, as proven by his eight league goals – including a hat-trick against Swansea City.
