CaughtOffside has put together a team of players currently struggling, featuring just eleven stars who are spending more time on the sidelines than on the pitch this season:

GK) Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester City)

The Leicester keeper missed his team’s victory over Stoke City earlier this month, and has since returned to first-team action. It’s seemingly a good time to be a goalkeeper, with no current injury issues for the men between the posts.

RB) Mathieu Debuchy (Arsenal)

Expected to be out for at least another three months with an ankle injury, one of eight injuries at Arsenal, who are struggling to cope with the crisis – especially in defence.

LB) Jon Flanagan (Liverpool)

Unfortunately struggling with a knee injury that has ruled him out throughout so far this season – such a shame for the youngster after such a positive 2013-14.

CB) Jonny Evans (Manchester United)

Likely to be the longest term absentee out of United’s injury-struck backline, suffering with an ankle injury.

CB) Chris Smalling (Manchester United)

A hip injury currently places him alongside Evans and Phil Jones on United’s injury list.

CM) Aaron Ramsey (Arsenal)

Another injury for Arsenal’s key midfielder, with a hamstring strain keeping him out this time.

CM) Ross Barkley (Everton)

Yet to play this season after suffering a MCL knee ligament injury during pre-season, shortly after signing a new contract.

RM) Samir Nasri (Manchester City)

Pictures of the Frenchman in hospital emerged earlier this week. The groin injury is likely to keep him out for at least a month.

LM) Robert Snodgrass (Hull City)

Shortly after becoming Hull’s record signing, a figure that has since been surpassed, the wide-man suffered a knee injury that will see him miss the majority of the season.

ST) Olivier Giroud (Arsenal)

Will be out until the New Year with an ankle injury – a knock that prompted the Gunners to sign Danny Welbeck.

ST) Andy Carroll (West Ham United)

A long term absentee still struggling with a foot injury, the seemingly injury-prone forward hopes to be back before Christmas.
