The 22-year-old scored 10 goals for the Italian club last season and has started the new campaign in fine form, scoring two goals in three games.

This fine form has led to speculation that Gabbiadini could be set to move to a big club in either the Premier League or La Liga with Tottenham and Atletico Madrid chasing his signature.

Unfortunately, the strikers’ agent Silvio Pagliari has now rejected any speculation that his young client could be interested in a move away from Sampdoria.

“I know that the director of Atletico was there to watch his last game,” Pagliari told Tutto Mercato.

“For the market, it is premature to talk about it. If there are roses, they will blossom in the future. Who knows what will happen in a year?”

“I see no reason to change [in January]. In June we wanted Sampdoria and we are happy we made this choice. Manolo is doing well and should continue doing so.”

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino may now turn his attentions to Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez, who is reportedly another January target for the former Argentine international.
