England manager Roy Hodgson has named his 21-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers with San Marino and Estonia as Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is left out.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers spoke to Hodgson ahead of the matches to ask him not to include Sturridge as the 25-year-old continues to recover from a thigh injury last time he was on international duty.

There are some more surprise exclusions as well, with Arsenal and Manchester United youngsters Calum Chambers and Luke Shaw only being deemed good enough for the Under-21s.
