The 27-year-old has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League, a prospect that seems all the more likely considering the forward’s current status at the Nou Camp.

Pedro is struggling to break into head coach Luis Enrique’s starting XI currently, hampered by the emergence of youngster Munir El Haddadi.

This problem is set to only be exacerbated when new £75m signing Luis Suarez returns to the first team when his four-month ban finishes on October 24 and the Spain international could well be open to a move away.

Three parties from England have shown the most interest in the attacker, although the Gunners and the Reds may be put off by Barca’s asking price.

This is because the North Londoners splashed the cash once again this summer, signing Pedro’s former teammate Alexis Sanchez from Catalonia for £35m and Brendan Rodgers sanctioned over £100m of spending on new talent.

The Red Devils meanwhile appear to have no financial cap and after spending a record £151.7m on new faces in the last transfer window new manager Louis van Gaal looks to continue delving into the club’s coffers in the New Year.
