Here are five things we are desperately looking forward to seeing this weekend:

5) Southampton come back to haunt Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino took over Southampton in controversial fashion, taking over from Nigel Adkins who had been doing an excellent job with the Saints.

Adkins was soon forgotten however when the Argentine began getting the best out of his new side and the South coast team seemingly punching above their weight.

Southampton were believed to be in trouble this season after a number of high profile exits in the summer, including their manager who left just as controversially as he arrived.

They have surprised everyone however and currently sit in second place after fantastic work by new boss Ronald Koeman.

The Saints travel to White Hart Lane on the weekend to face Pochettino’s new side Tottenham, and at this point it might not even be considered an upset for the visitors to grab a victory.

4) What will happen if Newcastle lose?

Alan Pardew has been teetering on the edge of unemployment for a long time now, with Newcastle United sat in relegation territory after managing to secure just three points from their first six games.

Owner Mike Ashley seems to have stuck with Pardew so far, but surely that can only last so long.

With the amount of noise coming from the Toon fans calling for a new manager, it would not be a surprise to see Pardew get the chop if as expected he loses to Swansea City this weekend.

3) The return of Daniel Sturridge

Liverpool have looked poor in comparison to their last fantastic season and that could be in large part due to the absence of Daniel Sturridge.

The Englishman was arguably just as important to Brendan Rodgers’ side last season as the recently departed Luis Suarez and his injury has left them with a distinct lack of firepower upfront.

With most of the side not really performing well enough, it’s not even clear whether Sturridge will be the solution.

He will however go a long way to improving what has been a disappointing Reds side this term.

2) What will Arsenal do differently this time against Chelsea?

Arsenal had a nothing short of disastrous result against Chelsea last season, with the Gunners thrashed 6-0 at Stamford Bridge. They will be looking to make amends this season, but what can they do differently?

It is obviously a different Gunners side, but it is also a different and more threatening Blues side.

The two are the only teams currently still undefeated, but it is unlikely to still be that way this time next week.

1) Can Manchester United continue their recovery?

Manchester United have been struggling ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left two seasons ago, but the start of 2014/15 has seen arguably their worst run of games in a long time.

Their narrow win against West Ham United last weekend has put them in a slightly more respectable seventh place, but they are still massively under-performing.

With a tough game against fellow strugglers Everton this weekend, Louis van Gaal desperately needs to get a few more wins under his belt.

Captain Wayne Rooney will be on the sidelines after seeing red last game, so all eyes will be on new boy Radamel Falcao to grab his first goal for the club.
