Premier League Stars With Most Goals Against A Single Team Featuring Luis Suarez And Chelsea And Liverpool Legends

The players who have starred in the English top tier with most strikes against one side.

For whatever reason certain players have a single club that they score bagfuls of goals against and we’ve picked five from the Premier League era that are a bogey strikers for a specific side.

Ahead of the Chelsea v Arsenal match on Sunday – which could feature a certain player on this list – here are the best of the best.

5. Nicolas Anelka – 12 goals v Blackburn Rovers

The perennial journeyman played for six teams in the English top tier during his time in the country and against Blackburn he netted with five of them over 16 games.

Anelka has recently signed up to play in the new Indian Super League.

4. Luis Suarez – 12 goals v Norwich City

The poor old Canaries were constant whipping boys for the Uruguayan, with the forward scoring hat-tricks against them twice during his time with Liverpool.

FC Barcelona snapped up the 27-year-old this summer for an eye-watering £75m whilst Norwich were relegated.

3. Michael Owen – 14 goals v Newcastle United

It’s a case of if you can’t beat them join them here, as after causing misery to the Magpies with the Reds – and after a short stint with Real Madrid – Newcastle signed Owen themselves in 2007.

The Englishman would later go onto play for Manchester United and Stoke City, but didn’t score again against the side from the North East.

2. Didier Drogba – 15 goals v Arsenal

The only player on this list still playing for a Premier League club, Drogba is unlikely to feature against his favourite opposition at the weekend due to an ankle injury.

In the past though the Chelsea ace has scored a whopping 15 times against the Gunners, including winners in two cup finals.

1. Alan Shearer – 21 goals v Leeds United

This man is the all-time top-scorer in the division by some way – with 260 strikes to his name – so it was always likely he would also top this list.

Leeds were the unfortunate team on the end of Shearer’s fearsome right boot, with the Englishman scoring seven braces and a hat-trick against the Lilywhites.
