The Red Devils spent big over the summer as they brought in the likes of Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera and Daley Blind, and their aggressive approach in the transfer market under van Gaal shows no sign of slowing down as the January transfer window approaches.

A striker and a midfielder are on the agenda for United, with the club readying around £95m to secure the signing of these two superb talents in one double swoop.

1) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

First on United’s list is Juventus midfielder and long-time target Arturo Vidal. The Chilean international has been one of Europe’s finest midfield players in recent years and would make an excellent addition at Old Trafford if the club could pull this deal off. Having failed to land him during the summer transfer window, United are now ready to up their bid to around £52m in a hope to finally bring the 27-year-old to Manchester.

2) Radamel Falcao (AS Monaco)

Secondly, United are ready to spend a further £43m to make Radamel Falcao’s loan move from AS Monaco permanent this winter. The Colombian striker is yet to score since arriving at Old Trafford, but is undoubtedly a world class talent and has seemingly impressed van Gaal with his displays so far. Although he won’t come cheap, United are eager not to potentially allow another club to swoop for him next summer.
