Arsenal Ace & Liverpool Duo Make England XI Based On Current Premier League Form

New look England starting XI based on current Premier League form. Arsenal star and Liverpool duo included…

A number of excellent players are often overlooked for national duty, despite performing superbly with their respective clubs. But what would the England team look like if it was based entirely on current form?

Here is how an England starting XI based on current Premier League form should look according to WhoScored.com:

GK) Fraser Forster – Southampton – 6.76

After being tipped for relegation following a summer of departures, Southampton have been performing way above expectations this season. The reliability of Fraser Forster following his move from Celtic is a large part of that.

RB) Eric Dier – Tottenham – 7.25

A surprise package this season, the versatile young defender got off to an excellent start to the campaign with two goals in quick succession. One for the future perhaps, but certainly capable of making an impact now as well.

CB) Curtis Davies – Hull – 7.65

Arguably one of the most overlooked English players in the Premier League, Davies was one of the most consistent centre-backs in the country last season and many were calling for him to be selected for the World Cup. Still performing to an extremely high level this campaign, but still yet to receive an international cap.

CB) Michael Dawson – Hull – 7.63

As Davies’ new centre-back partner, Dawson has been impressing at Hull since his move from Tottenham in the summer. The Tigers have been having to soak up an enormous amount of pressure in their opening set of fixtures, but Dawson and Davies have dealt with everything that’s been thrown at them.

LB) Ryan Bertrand – Southampton – 7.31

The Chelsea loanee looks to have a new lease on life since his switch to Southampton, but unfortunately for him he is playing in a position that England are well stocked in with a number of quality players ahead of him.

DM) Mark Noble – West Ham – 7.19

A mainstay in the Hammers’ midfield, Noble is the kind of player that England have arguably been missing for a while now. He would add experience, grit, and an excellent work ethic in the centre of the park.

CM) Jordan Henderson – Liverpool – 7.53

Becoming a driving force in Liverpool’s midfield this season and the last, Henderson has steadily been improving and certainly deserves his place in the England squad.

CAM) Raheem Sterling – Liverpool – 7.57

Liverpool have been fairly disappointing this season compared to their heroics last campaign, but young Raheem Sterling is the one shining light that has continued to impress. An unbelievable talent who has been charged with carrying Liverpool practically on his own in the first few games.

LW) Stewart Downing – West Ham – 7.26

Downing has come in for a lot of criticism in the past, but his current form has been superb. With one goal and three assists already this season he is contributing far more in attack for the Hammers and doesn’t look like slowing down.

RW) James Milner – Manchester City – 7.45

The Manchester City man is one of the most reliable players in the Premier League, and is constantly undervalued due to the quality that surrounds him. He has quietly been excellent this season, and if the rumours of his Etihad exit are true then City will be losing a fantastic play.

ST) Danny Welbeck – Arsenal – 7.42

Arsenal look to have got a bargain in the form of Danny Welbeck this season, with the 23-year-old already impressing for his new club with a hat-trick in the Champions League.

He looks to be thriving with the responsibility he has been handed, and given more time in his preferred position up front could see him become an absolutely lethal frontman.
