Yohan Cabaye can’t get in the PSG side, and he’s mightily unhappy as a result.

“Have I spoken to Laurent Blanc? No. What do I tell him? I am 28 years old and not new to the job. But I am not satisfied with the situation,” Cabaye told L’Equipe (reported by ITV Sport).

“Am I completely happy? To be honest, no. It is a new situation for me, but I don’t complain. It is the first time I haven’t played regularly for my club.”

The midfielder proved though during his time in the Premier League that at his best, he’s a seriously good footballer – and here’s seven clubs who could do with his services in January.

Arsenal

The Gunners badly need central midfield reinforcements, and wanted Cabaye last summer. With Mikel Arteta injured and ageing, and Mathieu Flamini lacking composure on the ball, Cabaye could add technical ability to the base of the midfield.

Liverpool

The Reds have arguably lacked precise passing in the centre this season, with Jordan Henderson rated more for his combative presence, and Steven Gerrard struggling to find last season’s form. Cabaye would offer a goal threat and further strength in depth for the Reds – although he is fairly similar to Joe Allen and Coutinho.

Newcastle United

The Magpies would absolutely love Cabaye back, as when he left in January, their form significantly suffered. It’s highly unlikely the Frenchman will see a move back to St. James’ as a positive step, however.

Roma

With Man United chasing Kevin Strootman, the Serie A giants might need to find a replacement, and if they do sell their Dutch superstar, they could do plenty worse than Cabaye.

Atletico Madrid

Cabaye’s smooth passing and ability to combine defence and attack means he’ll suit Diego Simeone, although he might have to up his work-rate! Gabi and Tiago are both in their thirties, and Cabaye would likely jump at a chance to move to Madrid and replace the latter int he starting XI.

Zenit St. Petersburg

Zenit have a history of securing unexpected big name transfers. They’ve bought Hulk, Axel Witsel and Ezequiel Garay in recent transfer windows, and would be able to offer Cabaye massive wages and first-team Champions League football. Whether Cabaye would be prepared to play in Russia is unknown.

Valencia

Valencia are enjoying an excellent start to the season, and a January move for Cabaye might help them qualify for next season’s Champions League. Cabaye would be an upgrade on Javi Fuego and Andre Gomes, currently starting alongside Dani Parejo in midfield.
