The Blues already have an awesome list of attacking players available to them, and the arrival of Sterling will certainly pose a headache for the Portuguese coach, with the 19-year-old set to compete with the likes of Eden Hazard, Andre Schurrle and Willian for a place in the team. Here’s how we see Chelsea looking if they do bring in the Reds wide-man…
Goalkeeper and defence:
Staying much the same in this part of the pitch, John Terry partners Gary Cahill at centre-back, with Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta the two full-backs and Thibaut Courtois behind them in goal.
Midfield:
In a strong defensive midfield, there seems little need for signings in this department as Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic continue their strong partnership that has grown this season.
Attack:
Lining up on the right-hand side, it seems likely that if Chelsea are ready to pay as much as £48m for Sterling then he will get in ahead of Schurrle and Willian on that side of the pitch, lining up alongside Oscar and Eden Hazard in a three-man attacking midfield, just behind Diego Costa. This front four looks utterly brilliant and most of the players look to still have their best years ahead of them.
