Negotiations with free agent Victor Valdes have begun
The former FC Barcelona goalkeeper is on the verge of signing for the Merseyside outfit after beginning talks over a free transfer, according to the Daily Star.
Valdes has been out of contract since leaving the Nou Camp at the end of last season and Brendan Rodgers views the 32-year-old as the ideal competition for current No.1 Simon Mignolet.
The Belgium international has become increasingly erratic since his 2013 switch from Sunderland and Rodgers wants an alternative to the 26-year-old.
