In his column for the Daily Mail, Carragher explained that although Suarez was a more technically gifted player than the Blues frontman, he opted for the big-game player instead for his overall commitment to the club’s tremendous success.

Other big names from Manchester United and Manchester City feature in the lineup, though none of his former Anfield team-mates have made the team, despite big names such as Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres being among the finest foreign players to play in England in recent times.

Still, with so many of the best players from all around the world coming to play in the Premier League in the last decade or so, it is no surprise that there have been some difficult selection choices in picking this lineup, with Carragher admittedly choosing a very strong group of players to represent the best of overseas talent to ply their trade on these shores.

See below for the lineup in full:

GK: Peter Schmeichel

A Manchester United legend and all-time goalkeeping great, Peter Schmeichel is an obvious choice for a place in this lineup.
