City winning the race for Nou Camp star.
Manchester City are currently tipped as the favourites to sign Barcelona right-back Dani Alves ahead of their Premier League rivals, according to Spanish source Fichajes.net.
The Premier League champions are one of a number of teams looking at the unsettled Brazilian international as he stalls on signing a new contract at the Nou Camp, with Liverpool and Manchester United also monitoring his situation.
Alves has been a world class full-back in recent times, establishing himself as a key player in Barca’s recent success in La Liga and Europe, though he may now be about to call time on his stay with the club as he enters the final year of his contract.
Alves would be allowed to leave on a free transfer next summer and has understandably attracted plenty of interest, though City looks likely to be his next destination as Manuel Pellegrini is set to bringing in yet another top class player in that part of the pitch.
The Chilean already has Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna to choose from in that role, with Micah Richards also out on loan at Fiorentina this season, but it seems he wants more options as the club continues to pursue Alves.
