DR: Bacary Sagna (Manchester City & France)

A summer signing from Arsenal, Bacary Sagna has long been one of the  best right-backs in the Premier League, even if the Frenchman has been in and out of the starting lineup at his new club.

DL: Filipe Luis (Chelsea & Brazil)

A summer signing we haven’t seen a great deal of yet, but Chelsea’s Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis was in immense form for Atletico Madrid as they won La Liga last season.

DC: Vincent Kompany (Manchester City & Belgium)

Undoubtedly one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League, Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany is part of this superb generation of Belgian players.

DC: Gary Cahill (Chelsea & England)

Chelsea and England defender Gary Cahill is another of the Premier League’s most in-form central defenders, and gets the nod alongside Kompany here.

MC: Yaya Toure (Manchester City & Ivory Coast)

A world class performer for Manchester City and his national side the Ivory Coast, Yaya Toure is an obvious candidate for this best XI, continuing a strong City contingent in the team.

MC: Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea & Spain)

Another Chelsea star, in-form midfielder Cesc Fabregas flies the flag for Spain in this lineup, ahead of his fellow club and international team-mate Diego Costa.

MR: Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal & Chile)

Arsenal’s superb summer signing, Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez takes a place on the right flank in this 4-4-2 formation after his fine start to life in England.

ML: Angel Di Maria (Manchester United & Argentina)

A player who already looks like becoming one of the best in the Premier League, Manchester United’s Argentine winger Angel Di Maria was a must-have for this XI, ahead of fellow countryman Sergio Aguero.

FC: Radamel Falcao (Manchester United & Colombia)

On loan at Manchester United from AS Monaco, Colombian striker Radamel Falcao is another of the exciting new signings at Old Trafford this season to make the team.
