Online poll shows landslide winner.
Manchester City fans have voted for their choice of Roberto Mancini’s best signing for the club during the Italian’s time in charge, with one big-name player some way out ahead of the rest.

The Italian tactician was a big appointment for the club after the sacking of Mark Hughes, helping City usher in a new era of success as they won the FA Cup and later the Premier League under his guidance, paving the way for further success under current boss Manuel Pellegrini.
It is no secret that City have spent big on a number of high class players in that time, with much of their success owed to the finances of Sheikh Mansour and the players brought in since his takeover of the club in 2008.
Given the option of five high-profile signings made during Mancini’s reign, all of whom have contributed heavily in big games and decisive moments in the last few years, City fans have their clear favourite, with the players voted for in order of importance from least to most…
5) Edin Dzeko – 0%
Somewhat harshly, Edin Dzeko comes up with 0% of the votes at the moment, despite continuing to be a key figure for City upfront, always proving reliable for scoring important goals at just the right moment.
4) Samir Nasri – 5%
Somehow ahead of Dzeko is former Arsenal man Samir Nasri with 5%, who has arguably failed to deliver since his big-money move from the Gunners in 2011.
3) Yaya Toure – 21%
Surprisingly only in third place, Ivory Coast midfielder Yaya Toure only takes 21% of the vote despite his immense performances at the Etihad Stadium for the last few years – perhaps a case of his popularity dipping after his infamous summer birthday antics.
2) David Silva – 32%
A class act, it is no surprise to see Spanish playmaker David Silva high up on this list with 32% of the votes from City supporters after his continued influential displays from midfield.
1) Sergio Aguero – 42%
Scorer of THAT goal against Queens Park Rangers to deliver the Premier League title in thrilling style, there is perhaps no question that Sergio Aguero was seen by nearly half the fans taking the poll as Mancini’s most inspired signing, as the Argentine goal-poacher truly lifted the club to new heights when he joined, making the difference in the end as they beat Manchester United to the title in 2012.
