Take a look at the five defenders Jose Mourinho may target to replace the Blues legend.

Raphael Varane

Mourinho built up a good relationship with Varane during his time at Real Madrid and has since said that he admires the young defender. The Frenchman was reportedly unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu during the summer due to a lack of first team football.

John Stones

The England international has established himself in the Everton first team through some excellent displays over the past few months. If he gets over his injury problems. Stones could be a top quality defender that Chelsea would surely be interested in.

Marquinhos

The Blues were interested in Marquinhos before he signed for Paris St Germain last summer. They could make another move for him next summer as reports suggest he is unhappy at the Parc des Princes.

Kyriakos Papadopoulos

The Greek defender was another player Chelsea were linked with last summer. If Terry fails to agree a new contract, they may make a move for the talented youngster.

Antonio Rudiger

The 21-year-old could be considered as a cheaper alternative to the likes of Raphael Varane. Rudiger was linked with a move to West Ham during the summer but he stayed at Stuttgart, saying if he moves it will only be to a top club.
