Arsenal Star Jack Wilshere Insists There Is No Injury Crisis At The Club

Gunners ace laments loss of Ozil, but claims club is in good shape.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has admitted that he is devastated for fellow midfielder Mesut Ozil after he became the latest player to be struck down with a knee injury, but stopped short of admitting that there is an injury crisis at the club, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Germany star added to the Gunners’ troubles by being ruled out until the New Year. But Wilshere, fresh from an impressive performance for England in Estonia, says there is no injury curse at the Emirates.

France defender Laurent Koscielny was sent home from the national side with an ongoing Achilles problem and faces a struggle to be available for the weekend’s clash with Hull, whilst striker Danny Welbeck limped out of England’s win over Estonia, but he is thought to be okay to take on the Tigers.

That comes on top of Mathieu Debuchy and Olivier Giroud who are both out until the New Year. Mikel Arteta, Theo Walcott, Yaya Sanogo, Serge Gnabry, Aaron Ramsey, Abou Diaby and Nacho Monreal are all expecting to be back in training this week after various injuries.

Wilshere missed almost a year of his career through injury himself, and has insisted that though his thoughts are with Germany international Ozil, the club will survive without him.

“We are devastated for Mesut because he can play in that No 10, we have seen what he can do at No 10. We have players who can come in.

“It’s tough to take but it is part and parcel of football. I have had my fair few injuries. It is not a curse it happens and you just have to deal with it.

“It will be hard for him (Ozil) because he likes football, he has never really had an injury before. He had a slight one last season.

“I am not even sure how long it is, I’ve not been back to the club. It will be difficult for him. But he is naturally quite a fit lad so he will be alright.

“I think Danny Welbeck is alright. It was more of a tactical change when he came off.”
