Antonio Di Natale

Antonio Di Natale may have recently turned 37 years-old, but is still scoring plenty of goals for Udinese. The veteran forward is arguably one of the best front men of his generation, scoring nearly 300 goals in his career to date. Despite offers from several clubs over the years, Di Natale has stayed at Stadio Friuli and become a club legend.

Paul Gascoigne

Paul Gascoigne was the most talented Englishman in a generation and despite several heroic displays for the national team, he never managed to play with a club who finished in the Premier League’s top two. He did play for Lazio and Rangers and was linked with Manchester United before moving to Tottenham in the late 1980s.

Bobby Moore

England’s World Cup winning captain Bobby Moore is regarded as one of the greatest defenders of all time but for most of his club career, he played for West Ham United. His only club silverware with the Hammers was an FA Cup and UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup – a modest return for one of England’s greatest players.

Matt Le Tissier

Le Tissier spent his whole career at Southampton, even though he had the ability to move to one of the big clubs in English football. Given that he only won eight senior caps for England, this likely harmed his international chances, which is criminal for a player of his quality.

Joaquin

During the early 2000s, Joaquin was regarded as one of the most dangerous wingers in the world. Even though he spent time at a very good Valencia side, he never ended up at one of the big European clubs which is a shame considering the talent he had.

Alan Shearer

Shearer is a club legend at both Blackburn and Newcastle but his trophy cabinet is pretty bare considering he was one of the best strikers England have ever produced. It could have been so different if he had choosen to join Manchester United instead of Newcastle in 1996.
