After a heavy summer of spending, many Premier League teams will be on the lookout for a bargain in the January transfer window, searching for a player capable of boosting their chances for the rest of the campaign.

With players in the final year of their contract free to talk to potential suitors at the turn of the year, there are plenty of top quality stars to be had on the cheap. As you can see here:

GK) Neto (Fiorentina)

The 25-year-old is a Brazilian youth international, and has been linked with a move to Liverpool in the past.

RB) Dani Alves (Barcelona)

The experienced Brazilian full-back has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with Man United especially keen.

LB) Glen Johnson (Liverpool)

The defender has fallen out of favour this season, and is unlikely to receive a new deal. Juventus are watching carefully.

The destructive Dutch midfielder would be an excellent buy for anyone seeking a combative holding player – think Arsenal.

RM) James Milner (Manchester City)

The City utility man has spoken of his desire to play regular first-team football, and would be willing to move to make it happen.

LM) Yevhen Konoplyanka (Dnipro)

The Ukrainian has interested Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham in the past, and could prove a hit in the Premier League.

ST) Klaas-Jan Huntelaar (Schalke)

The formidable Dutch striker still has a point to prove at the top level, and would love to do so in the Premier League.

ST) Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)

The Spurs forward has struggled for form and goals this season, but still has the ability to change games when at his best.
