The Belgian international has played a limited role in first team action under Louis van Gaal and is said to be considering his options despite being tied down to a long term Old Trafford contract.
The 19 year old penned a five year deal last October but is yet to start a single Premier League fixture this term with the arrival of Argentine wide-man Angel di Maria certainly providing another obstacle to his chances of making in roads back into the Man United starting eleven.
Perez and Bernabeu boss Carlo Ancelotti have drawn up a list of youthful talents as Real Madrid look to bring in new additions who can form the nucleus of the club’s first team for the future, with the added proviso being that said targets have a strong sell-on value should they prove ineffective.
One of the names on this list is Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling though Real Madrid are not confident of persuading the Anfield side to sell and have therefore turned their attentions to Januzaj.
Real Madrid clearly have a history of nabbing Man United stars having brought in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Gabriel Heinze in recent seasons.
Louis van Gaal may not see Januzaj as a crucial part of his plans and if the former Anderlecht man doesn’t feel he is wanted then he could be tempted by a move to the Spanish giants.
Januzaj has made 41 appearances for Man United, 20 of which were from the bench, and has netted four goals for the club and was part of Belgium’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
