Johnson thinks Sterling is being punished for his honesty over tiredness controversy
Whilst away with England during the recent Euro 2016 qualifiers the teenager did not start against Estonia because he was tired.
Since then the debate has raged about whether or not Sterling should have played, but his club and international teammate Johnson has backed the forward.
“Raheem was asked a question and he gave an honest answer. Now, it seems, he is getting punished for it,” the defender was quoted by the Mirror.
