To qualify they have to be aged 21-years-old or younger.

6. Andrew Robertson, Hull City

Signed from Dundee United over the summer this left-back has become a firm fixture in the Tigers back line as Steve Bruce’s men have made a strong start to the campaign.

5. Eric Dier, Tottenham Hotspur

Although initially bought from Sporting Lisbon as a central defender this 20-year-old has found his home at right-back and might finally be the solution to Spurs’ problems in the position.

4. Liam Moore, Leicester City

A stalwart in the England Under-21s the maturity with which this centre-back plays defies his age of just 21-years-old and will play a big part in Leicester’s probable relegation fight.

3. Calum Chambers, Arsenal

Signed from Southampton for £16m over the summer and rather than switching from central defence to the right like Dier, this 19-year-old has gone the other way and looks like a long-term replacement for Per Mertesacker.

2. Saido Berahino, West Bromwich Albion

The Baggies look set for a season of struggle, but if they are to avoid the drop then this 20-year-old forward will have a crucial role to play with Berahino having found his scoring boots of late.

1. Raheem Sterling, Liverpool

This attacker is so important for club and country that it’s easy to forget he is still just 19-years-old and there is already a lot of pressure on his young shoulders.
