Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham targets all make our team, as we put together a world class xi of Premier League January transfer targets that you may never have heard of:
GK) Ali Ahamada (Toulouse to Tottenham Hotspur)
French youth team goalkeeper who has played over 100 league games in his home country, having been first choice for the last two seasons. A potential £9m arrival could coincide with Hugo Lloris’ exit.
RB) Matteo Darmian (Torino to Manchester United)
The 24-year-old came through the AC Milan academy, but has made his name at Torino, where he has played since 2011. An Italian international since the start of this year, he started against England at the World Cup this summer.
LB) Tyrone Mings (Ipswich Town to Arsenal)
Was playing non-league football with Chippenham Town two years ago, after being released by Southampton’s academy. Has come on massively with Championship side Ipswich, and is now a first-team regular.
CB) Virgil van Dijk (Celtic to Arsenal)
A 23-year-old Dutch youth team international who has been a key player for Celtic over the last 18 months, and is keen to move on in order to secure Champions League football.
CB) Stephane Sparagna (Marseille to Arsenal)
An exciting 19-year-old prospect who only made his senior league debut in August. The youngster drew the eye of Arsene Wenger when Marseille and Arsenal met in a youth team game earlier this year.
CM) Lucas Silva (Cruzeiro to Chelsea)
Chelsea are battling Manchester United and Real Madrid for the next big name off the Brazilian line of talent. The 21-year-old has massively impressed in his domestic division so far this season, as a skillful holding midfield player.
CM) Marcelo Brozovic (Dinamo Zagreb to Arsenal)
A Croatian international who is already very experienced for a man of just 21-years-old. He signed a seven-year contract back in 2012, and will likely demand a fee of around £10m.
RAM) Fabio Sturgeon (Belenenses to Liverpool)
A 20-year-old Portuguese starlet and youth team international who has began to establish himself in his club side so far this season, and looks another exciting prospect.
LAM) Florian Thauvin (Marseille to Arsenal)
The 21-year-old has been hugely impressive for the French youth side’s, and has been a crucial player for his club side so far this season, inspiring them to an excellent start to the season. A goal-scoring midfielder.
ST) Shinji Okazaki (Mainz to Tottenham)
A 28-year-old Japanese international who is comfortably the oldest player on this list. But it is only in recent years that he has discovered his best form, netting 20 in 39 league games for his club side, while taking his national total to 39 in 79.
ST) Kevin Volland (Hoffenheim to Liverpool)
A 22-year-old one-time German international who has impressed for his club side since a productive loan spell with 1860 Munich two years ago. The Reds are also interested in his club teammate Roberto Firmino.
