CSKA Moscow 2-2 Manchester City Player Ratings: James Milner Solid But Yaya Toure Shocking

The City manager watched his side continue their poor European record, leading by two but still drawing.

Hart –  6

Not much he could do about the goals. Got close to the penalty, but not close enough.

Kolarov – 6

Penalty was awarded for his foul – although it was incredibly soft. Played some good balls from the left.

Mangala – 5

His poor positioning lead to the first goal. Does not yet have the presence he needs at the back.

Kompany – 5

Fine for long periods but too slow to react on first goal. Supposedly a great leader, but his team constantly fails to show spirit.

Zabaleta – 5

Got forward and played good crosses, but fell asleep along with the rest of the back four for the first goal, and let Doumbia run off the back of him repeatedly.

Fernando – 5

Booked for a clunmsy challenge and could easily have been sent off for a second. Sat too deep when City needed to impose themselves.

Toure – 4

Lazy in defence and ineffective in attack. Painful to watch such a great player look so out of sorts.

Milner – 7

The only City midfielder to emerge with any credit. Worked hard as ever, but also scored what should have been the decisive goal, and almost had another.

Silva –  6.5

Constantly involved but didn’t find the killer pass he usually does.

Dzeko – 6

Unselfishly assisted Aguero, but couldn’t shake off the determined Moscow defenders after that.

Aguero – 7

Got the vital goal and threatened, but didn’t get the support he needed to increase City’s cushion.
