Five Marco Reus Replacements For Arsenal And Liverpool, Including Former Chelsea Playmaker

Five potential targets for Arsenal and Liverpool if Marco Reus really is headed to Bayern Munich.

It was finally confirmed today that Bayern are looking to buy Borussia Dortmund’s Marco Reus. This will come as a surprise to nobody, as they have been linked with him for some time, but it will come as a blow to those clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal, who were hoping to sign the German star.

Here are five players that Premier League teams might now turn their attention to – although they will now be competing for a replacement with Dortmund themselves.

5) Dusan Tadic – Southampton

The former Twente star has had a sensational start to life in the Premier League, and grabbed four assists and a goal against Sunderland on Saturday. Will not come as cheap as the £12m he cost Southampton, but will still be decent value.

4) Kevin De Bruyne – Wolfsburg

Former Chelsea misfit De Bruyne has continued his development in the Bundesliga, and will be keen to prove the Blues’ hierarchy wrong in their decision to sell him.

3) Mattia Destro – Roma

The striker can play up front or out wide much like Reus. Is on fire at the moment and won’t come cheap. Dortmund bought another Italian striker – Ciro Immobile – last summer, and may return to Serie A for a second try.

2) Gylfi Sigurdsson – Swansea

After excelling for Swansea, Sigurdsson made the move to Tottenham, where he was never really given a chance. Since returning to Swansea, he has been even better than in his first spell, and may be about to get another shot at the big time.

1) Ross Barkley – Everton

A thrilling talent, as an Englishman he won’t come cheap, but would be worth every penny. Hard working, skilful and creative, he would be an ideal replacement for Reus in any team’s transfer plans.
