Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti warns Liverpool fans booing Cristiano Ronaldo could backfire
Ahead of the Champions League clash between the two sides Ancelotti has sent out a warning to supporters thinking of booing Ronaldo.
The 29-year-old spent six years with the Reds’ arch-rivals Manchester United, but the Italian says antagonising the forward will only motivate him.
“Cristiano is always super-motivated. But if the atmosphere is hostile it motivates him more,” Ancelotti was quoted by the Daily Express.

Captain Steven Gerrard looks finished says former England international Rodney Marsh
There have been some strong words aimed at Gerrard by Marsh, with the latter claiming the 34-year-old looks about ready to retire.
After an impressive season in 2013/14 it’s true that the form of the skipper has dropped in recent times and Marsh says that is a sign.
“Steven Gerrard looks finished. At the start of the season I said Steven Gerrard would be playing one year too many, and it looks exactly like that now,” the Englishman told talkSPORT.
Alvaro Arbeloa says lots has changed at Anfield since he was last there
It will be the first time the defender has come back to Merseyside since he left for Madrid back in 2009 when Los Blancos arrive for their Champions League clash.
Arbeloa spent two years in England and is looking forward to coming back as part of Ancelotti’s squad.
“It’s a special day for me, it’s nice to return to Anfield, I’m very happy and a lot has changed at Liverpool since I left,” the 31-year-old told Spanish daily Marca.
Ronaldo and teammates soaked by typical English weather
One thing that might work in favour of the Merseyside outfit ahead of the game with the reigning European champions is the weather.
Ronaldo is used to North England following his stay with the Red Devils, but for most of the squad the torrential rain they found themselves in on Tuesday would have been most unwelcome.
However, it is going to take more than a bit of water to stop Madrid and their impressive squad.
