Cardiff City will be aiming to continue their perfect start to life under new manager Russell Slade when they travel to Millwall for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off in the Championship.
Former Leyton Orient boss Slade could not have asked for a better start – defeating the previously unbeaten Nottingham Forest 2-1 in his first game, before backing that up by guiding his side to a 3-1 win over Ipswich Town.
The Bluebirds are now within touching distance of the playoff places, raising expectations among fans for an instant return to Premier League football. Thet currently sit three points adrift of the top six, having taken 19 points from 13 games.
Ian Holloway’s Millwall are without a win in eight games, and have slipped to 18th place in the division, with 14 points so far – three clear of the relegation places.
However, they are in fact unbeaten in their last three games – drawing all of them – and will come into the match full of confidence after fighting back from three goals down to draw with Wolves last weekend, before holding Wigan to a goalless draw in mid-week.
The match will be live on Sky Sports with coverage starting at 7pm. If you don’t have a Sky subscription why not grab yourself a NOW TV Sky Sports Day Pass – Pay As You Go access to all 6 Sky Sports channels for the first time ever!
