Sell Ramires To Real Madrid

Ramires has been a great player for Chelsea since his arrival from Benfica, but he has lost his place in the first team. The midfielder was a favourite of Carlo Ancelotti’s at the Bridge, and Chelsea should take advantage of the Real Madrid manager’s reported interest in the player to get a decent fee for him. Jose Mourinho has said that he wants the Brazilian to stay, but as we saw with Juan Mata last year, with Financial Fair Play in play, everyone has a price.

Sell Mikel To Anyone

John Obi Mikel is another midfielder who has been a great servant to Chelsea over the years, but Nemanja Matic’s amazing performances over the last year have reduced Mikel to a late game substitute. The Blues have a ready-made replacement in young Nathan Ake, who must be given a chance to prove himself before he grows tired of warming the bench.

Buy Another Striker

Chelsea’s striker problems looked to be solved when they brought Diego Costa, Didier Drogba and Loic Remy in this summer, but the last week have proved that the saga continues. Not only have Costa’s injury problems returned, Remy hurt himself while scoring and Drogba has shown he’s no longer good enough to be more than a late substitute. With Diego Costa as undisputed number one, Chelsea don’t need to spend huge money on an Edinson Cavani, but a cheap veteran or a youngster would fit the bill.

Replace Salah With A Playmaker

Andre Schurrle, Willian and Oscar are all fantastic players, but they offer very similar things: pace, work-rate and running. Mohamed Salah, signed last January, and was supposed to offer something different, but lacks the necessary quality. Chelsea should buy a proper number 10 to help them break down teams; Schalke’s Max Meyer remains a target.

Buy English

Chelsea a serious squad composition issue since letting Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole leave. They lack homegrown players and desperately need some English talent in the side. Dominic Solanke has been on the bench recently, but he won’t be enough on his own, especially with John Terry coming to the end of his career. Ross Barkley is a top target, but will be seriously expensive. James Milner’s contract is running down, and could be a good English squad filler.
