Here are seven players Mourinho is looking to sign in the January transfer window.

Ross Barkley, Everton

Is yet to feature for the Toffees this season due to a long-term injury, but the Blues are aware of how good Barkley is from his brilliant campaign in 2013/14 and the England international will have a price-tag that reflects that.

Mattia Destro, AS Roma

With Diego Costa and Loic Remy both injured currently and Didier Drogba looking past his best, attack is an area that needs addressing and Mourinho has his eye on this forward to act as support.

Sami Khedira, Real Madrid

Someone who has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for some time, with his current contract with Madrid expiring at the end of the season – although Arsenal are also keen.

Paul Pogba, Juventus

Is rumoured to be signing a new deal in Turin, but even if the France international does that does not mean the West Londoners cannot use their huge financial resources to convince Juve into selling.

Antonio Rudiger, Stuttgart

A young defender who has been greatly impressing in the Bundesliga this term and unsurprisingly has drawn plenty of attention from England as a result.

Raheem Sterling, Liverpool

With the Reds struggling and Sterling rated as one of the best young players in world football currently, the 19-year-old could well be tempted by a departure from Anfield to work under Mourinho.

John Stones, Everton

Finally although the West London outfit have been steady at the back in 2014/15, their options are still a little limited and a young player like Stones – who would also add to the homegrown quota – could be the perfect addition.
