GK) Simon Mignolet

Brendan Rodgers has little option but to start his out of form keeper between the sticks.

DR) Glen Johnson

Johnson is likely to continue at right-back ahead of young Spaniard Javier Manquillo, despite his worrying form this term.

DL) Alberto Moreno

Moreno got forward well against Real Madrid, and his offensive characteristics should help the Reds break down Hull at home on Saturday lunchtime.

DC) Martin Skrtel

Skrtel is Liverpool’s most experienced defender, and he’ll need to be at his best to deal with impressive Hull summer signing Abel Hernandez.

DC) Dejan Lovren

The summer signing is desperate for a clean sheet, and badly needs to up his defensive level – or he’ll soon be branded an expensive transfer flop. With Mamadou Sakho out though, he should get the nod.

DMC) Steven Gerrard

Gerrard’s played every minute this season, and he will continue at the base of midfield barring a late injury problem. Emre Can will provide backup from the bench.

MC) Jordan Henderson

Liverpool’s dynamic central midfielder sets the tone for their pressing game, and has assisted three Premier League goals so far. He’ll look to get forward as much as possible versus the Tigers.

MC) Coutinho

The Brazilian was mesmeric from the bench against QPR last weekend, and was Liverpool’s best player versus Real Madrid, too. As a result, he’s practically a certainty to start.

AMR) Raheem Sterling

He could perhaps do with a rest, but Liverpool need their best players on the pitch, and Sterling is comfortably one of them. The teenager could start from the right, but be given the licence to drift infield and drive through the centre.

AML) Adam Lallana

We reckon Joe Allen could make way for Lallana, with Liverpool needing less men in midfield. This will enable Coutinho to play as part of the midfield three, and Lallana to start on the left.

FC) Rickie Lambert

Following Balotelli’s horrific two performances versus QPR and then Real Madrid, it’s surely time for veteran summer signing Rickie Lambert to get a chance up top.
