Steve Bruce heaps praise on misfiring Mario Balotelli following Hull’s 0-0 draw with Liverpool…
Hull City manager Steve Bruce had nothing but good things to say about under-fire Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw.
Bruce: “He’’s [Balotelli] the whipping boy at the minute.”

Bruce believes that the Italian is being targeted and used as a whipping boy at the moment due to his notoriety and reputation.
Steve Bruce in his press conference says, for him, Mario Balotelli was LFC’s best player today.

He also revealed that he felt the former Manchester City man was Liverpool’s best player on the day and didn’t deserve the criticism he got.
Most fans and pundits would seem to disagree with Bruce however, and with the controversial forward taking more shots in the Premier League than any other player but still failing to find the net, it’s not hard to see why.
At £16m Balotelli was touted as the bargain of the season this summer, but with such a poor return so far it looks like that accolade was awarded far too early.
