Robin van Persie blasted in from a controversial set piece deep into injury time.
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hit out at the officiating following a last gasp Robin van Persie goal at Old Trafford that denied his side a victory, report the Daily Star, with the league leaders having to be content with just one point from their trip to the North West.
The goal came from an Angel di Maria free kick, which was awarded for a foul by Branislav Ivanovic in which the Serbian appeared to make minimal contact – but the Chelsea right back was given a second yellow card by referee Phil Dowd nonetheless.
Whilst he didn’t exactly say it directly, Mourinho sounded less than impressed by the decision and the officiating in general following the Old Trafford draw:
“If I have to speak about the second yellow I have to speak about lots of things – the penalty that Ivanovic should have been given, the accumulation of yellow cards, the throw-ins.”
“I know I speak always with my heart and get in trouble.”
