Here are the player ratings for Chelsea against Manchester United:

GK) Thibaut Courtois – 8.0 (Motm)

The Belgian didn’t always have that much to do, but what he did he did superbly. A number of excellent saves in the first half kept Manchester United out, including a number of great stops against Robin van Persie. Could do nothing to prevent the equaliser.

RB) Branislav Ivanovic – 7.0

Marauding down the right side, Ivanovic was solid in both attack and defence. Luke Shaw and Angel di Maria were a real handful at times but were marshalled well. Was very unlucky not to get a penalty in the first half. His foul on Angel di Maria resulted in his second yellow late on however, and allowed Manchester United to get the equaliser.

CB) John Terry – 7.0

Ever reliable at the back the experienced Chelsea captain didn’t put a foot wrong.

CB) Gary Cahill – 7.0

Struggled very occasionally with Robin van Persie’s movement but was solid for the most part.

LB) Filipe Luis – 7.0

An able deputy during Cesar Azpilicueta’s absence, was extremely bright in the first half but did fade in the second half somewhat.

CDM) Nemanja Matic – 7.5

The big Serb did a fantastic job of breaking up play, committing a number of niggling fouls on the Manchester United midfield.

CM) Cesc Fabregas – 6.0

An unusually quiet game from the Spaniard, largely due to the presence of Marouane Fellaini. His passing was not at it’s best and his set pieces were questionable. He did get the assist for the winning goal however.

CAM) Oscar – 6.5

Largely ineffective before being substituted, Manchester United’s midfield doing a decent job of stifling his creativity.

RAM) Willian – 7.0

Hard working as ever down the right side, but his end product was somewhat lacking. He did however link up well with Didier Drogba.

LAM) Eden Hazard – 7.5

Constantly causing problems for Manchester United and looked the most likely to make something happen for Chelsea. The only way the home side seemed to be able to stop him was by fouling him.

ST) Didier Drogba – 7.5

The Ivorian did exactly what was required of him; he held the ball up superbly, used his strength to bully United, and got on the score sheet with a thumping header.
