United to play lucrative friendly mid-season friendly with AC Milan

With no Champions League football at the club for the first time since 1995 the 13-time Premier League champions are preparing to fill that time with friendlies in the Middle East, according to the Daily Express.

However, these can’t be played whilst UEFA fixtures are going on so it will have to be delayed until the New Year before these lucrative games can be staged.

The Red Devils are expected to take on Milan, with the Serie A club also failing to reach the top tier of European football this season.
