Scott Sinclair (Manchester City)

This guy was tipped for big things at Swansea City. He scored 36 goals in 91 games for the Swans, but he has started just two Premier League matches for Man City following his £6.2m move to the Etihad in August 2012.

Benoit Assou-Ekotto (Tottenham Hotspur)

Assou-Ekotto has not played for Spurs since May 2013. He spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers. Although the Cameroon international is still under contract until the end of June, he was not included in Tottenham’s Premier League squad. Basically, he gets paid around £40,000 each week, but Spurs have no intention of using him.

Paulinho (Tottenham Hotspur)

Paulinho’s consistent omission from the Spurs team is baffling. The 26-year-old joined Spurs in a £17m move from Corinthians last summer and he played frequently in his debut season in England. He then played six times for Brazil at the World Cup and was heavily linked with interest from Chelsea during the transfer window. However, for some unknown reason, Mauricio Pochettino does not like him. Paulinho has had just 30 minutes of Premier League game time this season.

Adel Taarabt – Queens Park Rangers

Taarabt is one of the most skilful players in the world. His attitude and fitness, however, do not match his ability. The former Spurs starlet, who had a public row with Harry Redknapp recently, has not yet been deemed worthy of a league start this term.

Petr Cech – Chelsea

Cech, 32, is probably among the top five goalkeepers on the planet. Unfortunately for him, Thibaut Courtois is in the top three.

Tomas Rosicky – Arsenal

Rosicky was one of Arsenal’s top performers last season, but he has yet to start a league match this season.

Fabio Borini – Liverpool

Liverpool’s have a mini striker-crisis on their hands right now. Top man Daniel Sturridge is out injured and Mario Balotelli is Mario Balotelli. Despite things looking pretty desperate at Anfield, Borini, who was in a rich vein of form at the end of last season while on loan at Sunderland, could not even get in Brendan Rodgers’s 18-man squad on Saturday.
