One of those players linked with a move to the Premier League was Fiorentina’s Juan Cuadrado, who previously caught the attention of both Chelsea and Manchester United,  but is now just “details away” from signing a new deal with his current club, according to reports.

Here are ten big money deals that may, or may not be resurrected in January:

10) Giuseppe Rossi (Fiorentina)

Linked with Liverpool in the summer, who could revive their interest following the lack of success from Mario Balotelli.

9) Isco (Real Madrid)

Creative midfielder linked with both Liverpool and Man City. Will likely stay put and attempt to fight for his place at Madrid.

8) Paul Pogba (Juventus)

Talented French midfielder linked with Chelsea, Man United and Man City. He could be open to a return to the Premier League, but the asking price will be high, potentially upwards of £60m.

7) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Exciting German winger at the centre of a transfer battle between Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool. The trio will likely need to wait until next summer, when his £20m release clause kicks in.

6) Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint Germain)

The formidable South American forward was a target for Arsenal during the summer, who instead landed Danny Welbeck. However, they could yet be tempted to return with an improved offer.

5) Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund)

Formidable German defender who Louis van Gaal hoped would sure up his Manchester United defence. A deal could still be possible after Dortmund’s miserable start to the league season.

4) Juan Cuadrado (Fiorentina)

Exciting Colombian winger on the verge of signing a new contact, despite interest from Manchester United, Chelsea and Barcelona.

3) Sami Khedira (Real Madrid)

World cup winning midfielder heavily linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, who may have to wait until the player’s contract expires in the summer.

2) Arturo Vidal (Juventus)

Long term Manchester United target who has endured a difficult start to the season. His continuing injury issues could put off potential suitors.

1) Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

Iconic star who has been a red hot form with Madrid so far this season. He was linked with a dramatic return to his former club, Manchester United, but that now looks an impossibility.
