7. Joey Barton and Ousmane Dabo

Whilst the pair were at Manchester City, Barton was known to have a violent temper and they had a training ground bust-up that ultimately ended Barton’s career at City and put Dabo in hospital. The Frenchman came away with a detached retina whilst Barton was slapped with a four-month suspended sentence, £3,000 compensation fees and Dabo’s court costs, plus a £25,000 fine and six game ban from the FA, plus a £100,000 fine from City. Ouch!

6. Joey Barton and Jamie Tandy

That man again; Barton was celebrating signing a new deal with City back in 2004, only for youth team player Tandy to try and attempt a prank that would set the fledgling midfielder alight. Obviously, Barton didn’t take it well and stubbed a cigar out on Tandy’s eye. He spent a large amount of time in hospital while Barton was only handed a six week fine.

5. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Oguchi Onyewu

First revealed in the Swede’s autobiography earlier this year, he claims that the big American took an instant dislike to him and the pair came to blows on the training ground. The brawl began following a sharp two-footed tackle from Ibrahimovic, Onyewu reacted and they had to be separated as Zlatan aimed a headbutt his way, but still came away with a broken rib.

4. Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer

The first clash in the list to happen on the pitch. Trailing to Aston Villa, the pair clearly became frustrated with each other and had no problems with demonstrating that frustration with a display of handbags. Both were sent off to continue the spat in the dressing room, whilst a nine-man Newcastle slipped to a 3-0 defeat to the Villans.

3. Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben

During Bayern’s semi-final defeat to Real Madrid in last season’s Champions League, the two temperamental geniuses came to blows after both felt that neither was passing to the other one. The argument began to bubble up on the pitch, but came to life in the tunnel as rumour has it that the Frenchman punched Robben in the face.

2. Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise

During a team bonding trip to Portugal, Craig Bellamy and John Arne Riise locked horns following a karaoke night. The spat apparently began when Riise felt that Bellamy was pressuring him to sing, and after a skin full the combustible Welshman confronted his teammate with a golf club. However, it didn’t last long and Bellamy immortalised the story by swinging a mock club after scoring against Barcelona in the Champions League.

1. Roberto Mancini and Mario Balotelli

Mario Balotelli and Roberto Mancini were never teammates, but their clash was friendly-fire all the same. The pair were caught on camera coming to blows in a training session whilst at Manchester City in 2013. The scrap was blown over quickly, but started because the manager was reportedly unhappy with a tackle made by his compatriot in a practice match.
