GK) Simon Mignolet

Mignolet started Liverpool’s last League Cup fixture, and following his confidence boosting clean-sheet at the weekend, we reckon Brendan Rodgers will stick him between the sticks.

DR) Glen Johnson

Javier Manquillo started at the weekend, so it’s likely that Johnson will get the nod this time around, as Rodgers as rotated his squad thoroughly all season.

DL) Jose Enrique

The Spaniard is second choice behind Alberto Moreno, but the young summer signing will likely be given a rest for the League Cup tie.

DC) Dejan Lovren

Following their weekend clean-sheet, Lovren and Skrtel could continue at the heart of defence, with the manager desperate for the pair to form a strong defensive relationship.

DC) Martin Skrtel

The leader of Liverpool’s defence, Skrtel will be desperate to keep the likes of Wilfried Bony or Marvin Emnes at bay.

DMC) Lucas

The Brazilian can’t get in the Premier League side at the moment, but will provide the Reds experience and tenacity at the base of midfield if selected. Steven Gerrard should be rested.

MC) Emre Can

Can ticks over play nicely in the centre, and could continue to deputise for vice-captain Jordan Henderson, who could do with a rest.

MC) Coutinho

The Brazilian surprisingly started from the bench against Hull, but was the best player on the park when he came on after the hour mark. He should be walking into Liverpool’s starting XI right now, and should get the nod against Swansea.

AMR) Fabio Borini

Borini has barely had a sniff this term, but the League Cup should present a chance, if Rodgers decides to rest Raheem Sterling. Rodgers could also use Adam Lallana, although the £26m summer signing had a shocker at the weekend.

AML) Lazar Markovic

Another summer signing who’s failed to hit the ground running, Markovic has yet to produce a goal or assist since his £20m move. He’ll be keen to put that right on Tuesday evening.

FC) Rickie Lambert

Lambert will be desperate to notch his first goal for the Reds since arriving in the summer, and he’s likely to start up top in place of the misfiring Mario Balotelli.
