The Red Devils are among several Premier League clubs on alert after Bakkali rejects a new contract with PSV, suggesting he may be looking to leave, according to the Daily Express.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on landing the 18-year-old, who has been greatly impressing in the Eredivisie in recent times.
However, the giants from England will face further competition from across Europe as Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan are also thought to be interested in Bakkali.

Ryan Giggs flew to Turkey to watch Trabzonspor striker Abdul Majeed
The Ghana international is drawing interest from Old Trafford and Giggs was in Turkey on Thursday to watch his side take on Lokeren in the Europa League, according to the Mirror.
Majeed is something of a journeyman having joined Trabzonspor from Spartak Moscow in September, scoring nine goals in 16 games whilst on-loan with Valenciennes last season and previously top scoring in Sweden with BK Hacken.
The 23-year-old has even played in England before, turning out for Forest Green reserves whilst studying in the country.
Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta says Radamel Falcao would have preferred to have joined his club
One of the big surprises of the summer transfer window was Falcao’s deadline day loan move to United from AS Monaco.
However, Juve chief Marotta says that the Colombia international would have rather joined La Bianconeri than the English club.
“We were very close to signing him and the striker preferred a move to Italy and to wear Bianconeri colours,” the 57-year-old was quoted by the London Evening Standard.
