Arsenal haven’t conceded an English goal yet…

The Premier League table with only English goalscorers has a very different feel to it. Relegation strugglers are suddenly title challengers, and vice versa.

It says a lot about the state of English football at the moment that so many teams are reliant on foreign imports.

1) Arsenal 17 points, 4 goals scored, 0 conceded

Two goals from Danny Welbeck, along with one each for Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have put Arsenal top. More importantly in this table they haven’t conceded an English goal yet.

2) Swansea City 16 points, 7 goals scored, 1 conceded

Goals from Nathan Dyer, Wayne Routledge, and Jonjo Shelvey have helped the Welsh club. In the real league their performances have led to England manager Roy Hodgson making a first visit to the Liberty Stadium.

3) Liverpool, 16 points, 9 goals scored, 5 conceded

Goals from England internationals Raheem Sterling, Adam Lallana, Daniel Sturridge, Jordan Henderson, and the now internationally retired Steven Gerrard have helped the Reds to the most English goals in the league.

4) West Brom, 15 points, 8 goals scored, 6 conceded

A massive seven goals from Saido Berahino sort West Brom out, the one other being from Craig Dawson.

5) Crystal Palace, 13 points, 6 goals scored, 6 conceded

The goals are spread out for Palace, with Fraizer Campbell, Wilfried Zaha, Dwight Gayle, and Jason Puncheon all scoring.

6) Manchester City 12 points, 2 goals scored, 1 conceded

Both of the Citizen’s English goals have come from Frank Lampard. Like Arsenal, it is more the fact that not many English players have scored against them.

7) Stoke City 12 points, 3 goals scored, 2 conceded

Mark Hughes’ side have Peter Crouch and Ryan Shawcross to thank for their goals.

8) Sunderland, 12 points, 5 goals scored, 4 conceded

The Black Cats have four English scorers: Lee Cattermole, Jack Rodwell, Connor Wickham, and Adam Johnson all having netted.

9) West Ham 12 points, 4 goals scored, 3 conceded

The Hammers’ fine start to the season has been helped by Englishmen Stewart Downing, Carlton Cole, and Mark Noble.

10) Manchester United 12 points, 3 goals scored, 4 conceded

Captain Wayne Rooney has grabbed all of Manchester United’s English goals.

11) QPR 11 points, 6 goals scored, 5 conceded

Charlie Austin and Steven Caulker have combined for Harry Redknapp’s side.

12) Southampton 11 points, 4 goals scored, 4 conceded

Jack Cork, Ryan Bertrand, and Nathaniel Clyne have all scored for the Saints.

13) Everton 10 points, 3 goals scored, 3 conceded

With Ross Barkley injured, English goalscoring duties have fallen to Leighton Baines and skipper Phil Jagielka.

14) Aston Villa 10 points, 2 goals scored, 4 conceded

Gabriel Agbonlahor has bagged both of Villa’s goals.

15) Burnley 10 points, 2 goals scored, 5 conceded

Sean Dyche has been grateful for goals from Danny Ings and Michael Kightly this campaign.

16) Tottenham 10 points, 2 goals scored, 5 conceded

An unlucky source for Spurs’ English goals, with them both for defender Eric Dier.

17) Leicester City 9 points, 2 goals scored, 2 conceded

The strike partnership of Jamie Vardy and David Nugent have put a couple in the net for Nigel Pearson’s side so far.

18) Chelsea 6 points, 0 goals scored, 4 conceded

The Blues have no English goalscorers, and captain John Terry is the most likely to change that.

19) Hull City 5 points, 0 goals scored, 4 conceded

The Tigers also haven’t got any Englishmen scoring goals. Midfield pair Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore could change this in the future though.

20) Newcastle United, 5 points, 2 goals scored, 6 conceded

Mike Williamson and Sammy Ameobi may have scored for the Toon, but conceding 6 English goals has left them bottom.
