The Blues striker has been in fantastic form for the London side this season scoring nine goals so far, it was therefore a big blow when they lost him for four games on the trot.

Mourinho has been clashing with Spain boss Vicente del Bosque recently over the handling of the forward, essentially blaming the Spaniard for Costa’s injury problems.

The Brazilian-born Spanish ace is set to be called up for the national side again in a week for the next round of the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Mourinho claims he has no problem with players being called up for international duty as long as they take the same procedures to recover from any problems they may have, but surely most managers would prefer to shield their stars from the hazards and perils of international football.
